WEST SIDE HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH - CLEVELAND, OH

Following our Consistory's decision made on March 15, the West Side
Hungarian Reformed Church of Cleveland, Ohio, joyfully joins the Faithful & Welcoming Churches coalition.

During the Lenten Season, in March and April, Fabulous Friday Fish Fry at the WSHRC Calvin Center, between 3 PM and 7 PM. Public welcome!

Sausage Sale by the John Calvin Brotherhood - $3.50/lb - Pick-up on Saturday, April 8, 10:30 to 1:30 and Sunday April 9, after worship services.

April 9 - Bake Sale sponsored by Lydia Ladies Guild, also Agape Free-Will Donation Congregational Luncheon sponsored by Women's Guild after the services.

April 14 - Good Friday Worship Services 11AM Hungarian, 6PM English, Fish Fry 12 Noon to 4PM.

April 16 - Easter Sunday Festive Services with Lord's Supper 8AM and 11AM - English, and 9:30 AM - Hungarian.

April 6 - Kolbasz Pick-up 10AM-5PM. Women's Guild & Brotherhood meeting at 7:15 PM.

April 9 - Palm Sunday Worship Service at 10AM.

April 14 - Good Friday Worship Service at 7:30PM.

April 16 - Easter Sunday and Holy Communion.

April 30 - Sunday School Bake Sale after the worship service.

HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH WHITING, IN

The Hungarian Reformed Church of Whiting, Indiana will hold a Special Thanksgiving Worship Service the Saturday after Easter, April 22, at 1PM, followed by a luncheon at Phil Shmidt's Restaurant. We have been "strongly encouraged" by the City of Whiting to sell the building for the new Walgreen's Pharmacy Drive-thru to be built there. Beginning in May, we will be sharing a church with a local Congregational congregation that is welcoming us into their beautiful 67-year-old sanctuary, where we will hold our Reformed Worship Services separate from our hosts.

Annual Congregational Meeting held March 5, 2006, has voted to join
the Faithful and Welcoming Churches movement!

CALVIN REFORMED CHURCH NORWALK, CT

We celebrate the Lenten season with "Lenten Pot-Luck Night" combined with Bible Study, every Tuesday night 6PM.

On April 8, we have a Pre-Easter Pastry/Kolbasz Sale 10AM-2PM in our Church Parlor.

April 14, we have our combined Good Friday Worship Service at 7PM.

April 16, Easter Worship Services and Lord's Supper: 9:30AM English and 11AM Hungarian.

April 23 at 9:30AM we have "How Do You Love Your Neighbor?" service. We invited the New Light Missionary Baptist Church to celebrate and worship together. Our guest preacher is Rev. Dr. Philip Charles Joubert, Sr. We are excited to get together with our neighbors, regardless of race, because we think that we are ONE in Christ.

April 30 at 12 Noon, is our Women's Guild Annual Turkey Dinner Luncheon; at 2PM we pre-celebrate the 50th anniversary of Revolution in Hungary. Our guest lecturer is Prof. Dr. Bela Liptak, who has been a personal witness of this event. He is going to present a couple of documentary movies, made by NBC TV-200: "Cold War After Stalin" 1953-1956; CBS TV-1958: "Revolt In Hungary," NBC TV-1966:"Ten Years Later"; BBC TV-1986: "Cry Hungary."

Palm Sunday - 9AM Worship Service.

Maundy Thursday - 7PM Worship Service & Sacrament of Holy Communion.

Good Friday - 7:00 p.m. Tenebrae Service.

Easter Sunday - 9:00 a.m Worship Service with the Sacrament of Baptism and the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

FIRST HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH WALTON HILLS, OH

The Lorantffy Society will once again sponsor our All-You-Can-Eat Stuffed Cabbage Dinner on Sunday, April 2 at 12:30 PM. The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child ages 3-12. Reservations must be made by March 28 by signing up in the church office or calling 440-786-7272.

The Women's Guild will hold a Bake Sale on April 9 from 9AM. to 1PM. The Lorantffy will raffle off a festive array of holiday prizes including tickets to upcoming events.

Palm Sunday Breakfast April 9 from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Enjoy a wonderful breakfast of French toast, egg soufflé, assorted breakfast items, juice, coffee and tea. Bring your children and grandchildren, neighbors and friends. $7 adults / $3 children. Proceeds will support our Sunday School.

Maundy Thursday English Communion Service will be on Thursday, April 13 at 7PM. Good Friday Hungarian Service will be on April 14 at 11AM.

On April 16 we will hold our Easter Communion Services. Also, on Easter Sunday everyone is invited to a free continental breakfast in Bethlen Hall from 10AM-1PM.

FIRST HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH HOMESTEAD - MUNHALL, PA

The Homestead Congregation will be holding its annual hurka sale on Saturday, April 1. Price is $4 per pound.

We will have Maundy Thursday services at 7PM.

Easter Service will commence at 10AM.

HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH LORAIN, OH

April 9 - Palm Sunday Services will include worship participation by the Sunday School and Chancel choir. It will be followed by visitation to our elderly, sick and shut-in congregation members.

April 12 - Lenten Midweek services at 7PM in preparation of Easter.

April 13 - Combined Maundy Thursday Services with Holy Communion.

April 14 - Combined Good Friday Services.

April 16 - Sunrise Services with Holy Communion at Lakeview Park planned by Youth Fellowship. Breakfast in the social hall following Sunrise Services. Services with Holy Communion: Hungarian at 9AM and English 10:30 AM.

April 22 - The 50th Anniversary of the Men’s Brotherhood with a dinner for all congregation members.

BETHLEN COMMUNITIES UPDATE

Bethlen Communities/HRFA Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on July 15 at Champion Lakes Golf Club in Ligonier, PA. All proceeds benefit the Therapy Department at Bethlen Home. Features of the tournament include a Million Dollar Shootout and chances to win great prizes, such as a Buick and vacations. The day will end with a Dinner held at the Club. Bethlen Home is proud to display an Online Art Exhibit featuring the works of the talented Csaba Kur, a resident of the skilled nursing facility. Kur received mention in the Congressional Record in 1989 for his sculpture of Lajos Kossuth, located in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.
